Ilaveezha Poonchira is connected to the Hindu mythological stories. The Pandava had a sojourn in this place during their life incognito. Their wife Panchali, came to take a bath at a lake, Some devas, bewitched by her beauty, tried to satisfy their voyeuristic itch. Lord Indra built screens with hills heaping flowers and prevented them seeing Panchali . Ilaveezhapoonchira is a trekking destination located in Melukavu village in Kottayam district. Ilaveezhapoonchira means “a pond of flowers surrounded by trees but it’s leaves do not fall”.

Bharanamganam Church

Bharanamganam church is dedicated to St. Alphonsa, a nun of the Franciscan Clarist convent at Bharananganam. The tomb with the mortal remains of the St. Alphonsa is at this church which is now a famous pilgrim centre.

Illikal Kallu is locatedin Moonnilavu Village, Meenachil taluk, Kottayam district of Kerala, India. It is also one of the highest peak in the Western Ghats which is about 6000 feet above sea level. It becomes a major tourist attraction spot.

Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls

Aruvikuzhi Waterfalls, falling in five steps, is a real pleasure for the eyes.
